In The New York Times b-i-weekly magazine Upfont in an article entitles "Trying Times," author Patricia Smith informing us about how hard it is to get a job and pay for college and how hard this generation is trying to get jobs to be ahead in life.
According to Patricia Smith, a soon to be graduate from New York University, Kacey Herring tells Patricia, "spending countless hours combing through job offerings in the school's online database. She's perfected her resume and gathered letters of recommendation. She's even enrolled in a job-search boot camp run by investment firm Morgan Stanley. So far, nothing has led to a job offer." Jobs are getting harder and harder to find and because some graduates wait to get a job till after they go to college, they seem not to find any jobs and then they go into dept. In the article it utilizes, " The U.S. economy is slowly recovering from the Great Recession."
The youth today are so eager to get a job and be ahead so that they will have a job by the time they go into college. Patricia goes on saying, "More than 12 million Americans are still unemployed." Well today managers are looking for more experienced workers that they are makeing the college graduates work at hourly jobs like starbucks and gap. Patricia goes on saying, " Jillian Potter went to Anderson University in Indiana. she figured she'd have to borrow about $10,000 a year. But the tuition increased every year, and because she didn't decide on a major until she was a junior, she needed five years to graduate. Now 23, Potter is a social worker and she owes $80,000." People tend to go into dept. because college is so expensive that by the time you get through with one year you are already in dept. a lot. Plus, the amount to get in college is increasing that some people are choosing not to even go to college.
Children today are so eager to get jobs today so they can start on there live. They are being more independent. In the article Patricia talked to Carl Van Horn he said, Today's young people are very focused on trying to work hard and her ahead." Someone adds, "I don't think this is a generation of slackers." Most of the teens today know how the enviroment is working and they know that it is hard and is going to keep on getting worse. So they are trying to work to get money to save up for things. Teens getting a job still is not going to help them a whole lot because college is so expensive.
This is going to interfer with my american dream because it has always been a wish of mine to be able to go to college and it is so expensive now that I know that I have to go, but I don't know if I can afford it. In a newspaper it talks about how much people are going to have to pay to get into college and how some people are still paying for there college and there not even in college anymore.
I know what I want to do, I want to go to college, but I want to find an easier way to pay for it without having to pay on it for the rest of my life, or go into dept.

Skittles make a party in your mouth. They make your taste buds jump for joy. If I had a choice I would just eat skittles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Skittles remind me of the rainbow because there so colorful. Skittles are chewy, but they have a hard shell on the outside, but its easy to bite into a skittle. Skittles are a happy treat. Skittles will make you smile and bring up your spirit. Skittles are not healthy for you, but they are really good. "see the rainbow, taste the rainbow" That is what you hear when you see a commercial on the T.V. about skittles. They have all the colors of the rainbow.

book review!!!
"People smiled because they had to, or else" It's Clair's birthday. She is going through a lot right know. Her boyfriend is locked up in a cage with his crazy dad who wants to kill all the vampires in Morganville. Her best friend Eve, is made at her because of her working for Bishop. Bishop is an evil vampire that is trying to take over morganville. Her other friend Michelle is cast under Bishops spell and has to do everything Bishop says, even if it hurts the ones he loves. Rachel Caine's Carpe Corpus mesteriouslly catching me from the very begining. It had me were i wanted to read more and more. I never really got bored of this book.
Claira's boyfriend is locked up in a cage by bishop. Claira is doing everything she can to get him out, but she is alone. Everyone is scared to even talk to Bishop about anything or to go against him. Claira is forced to do everything Bishop ask's her to do, no matter if it hurts the people she cares about or not. Claira is stuck and she has to figure out a way to save everyone. Well her crazy, insane boss, Myrnin is being very mysterious, first he is turning Claira and her friends and boyfriend in to the enemy, then he is in front of Amelie explaining to Claira that he is on her side. Amelie is the daughter of Bishop and the only reason Bishop is trying to take over Morganville is because Amelie is hiding away from her father, and no one knows were she is intill she shows up infront of Claira and Myrnin. Claira is now confused about everything. All she know is that her boyfriend is locked up with his crazy father, her bestfriend is mad at her, her other bestfriend is trapped by Bishops spell and she has to figure out a way to free everyone.
In conclusion, Morganville is in trouble and it is down to Claira to figure out a way to get through all this without anyone else getting hurt or worse killed.

Gas prices rise nearly a quarter a gallon over the last two weeks. The normal price of a gallon of regular is $3.59 a gallon on Friday. "That's up 24.75 cents from the survey's previous canvass of roughly 2,500 filling stations in the continental United States on January 25, publisher Trilby Lundberg told CNN." Gas prices were falling, it started to rise in the last part of December. Gas prices from the international markets have gone up in the past few weeks.
The highest gas prices were located in Los Angeles, at the price of $4.10 a gallon. The lowest gas prices were located in Billings, Montana, at the price of $3.05 a gallon. In Albuquerque, New Mexico, prices for gas are $3.14 a gallon. In Boston, gas prices are $3.72 a gallon. In Charleston, South Carolina, gas prices are $3.41 a gallon. In Chicago, gas prices are $3.93 a gallon. In Denver, gas prices are $3.24 a gallon. In Houston, gas prices are $3.41 a gallon. In Long Island, New York, gas prices are $3.93 a gallon. In Miami, gas prices are $3.65 a gallon. In Memphis, Tennessee, gas prices are $3.33 a gallon. And in Portland, Oregon, gas prices are $3.51 a gallon.
Gas prices are getting really high if they keep going up they will soon be so high that no one can drive, because no one will be able to afford it. The normal price for gas now is $3.53 a gallon. The prices are 17 cents higher than last week, and 23 cents higher than last month. In Los Angeles, prices have gone up so much that people are paying $5 dollars a gallon. Some people are wanting answers for why the gas is getting so high.
People are saying that the reason why gas prices are going up is because oil prices are rising and because refineries are closing down. Oil prices are said to be rising because the economy is improving. OPEC production cuts are also a reason why oil prices are rising. Because of oil prices and gas prices going up in this country, peak gasoline prices are going to be between $3.50 a gallon and $3.90 a gallon this year.
Last years gas prices were $3.94 a gallon, in the begining of April. People are expecting the average prices for this year to be lower. "Kloza is predicting an average of $3.25 to $3.50 a gallon." Last years prices were $3.60 a gallon. That resulted in U.S. motorists to spend up to $479 billion at the gas pump. You will sometimes see people riding to and from somewere on a bike, that is because they cannot afford to pay gas prices, soon we will all have to ride on bikes or not go anywhere at all if the gas prices continue to rise like they are.

The American Dream!!!
Everyone has there own American dream. What is the American dream? The American dream is not something that someone can buy at a store. The American dream is what someone wants. The American dream is most of the reason why people move to America in the first place. They want this amazing dream that everyone talks about. My American dream is to succeed in things that I plan to do in the future.
People will talk about all the nice thing that they want. Me, all I want though is to graduate from high school, go to college, and become a physical therapist. I just want to succeed in all the things that im looking forward to doing in the future. My dream isn't about riches, or fame, I just want to succeed. Not everyones dream is the same.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jan/20/barack-obama-sworn-in-us-president
When Obama raised his right hand and was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts, it was his second time taking the oath in 24 hours - but this time with tens of millions of people watching on television. The president beamed as chants of "Obama, Obama!" rang out from the crowd.Obama had a formal swearing-in on Sunday at the White House because of a constitutional requirement that the president take the oath on January 20. Rather than stage the full inauguration on a Sunday, the main public events were put off until Monday.
It was another political milestone for Obama, the Hawaiian-born son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas.
During a triumphant parade down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, the president and first lady Michelle Obama thrilled wildly cheering onlookers by twice getting out of their heavily armored limousine and walking part of the way on foot, as they had done four years ago. Secret Service agents kept close watch. In a speech of under 20 minutes, Obama, 51, sought to reassure Americans at the mid-point of his presidency and encourage them to help him take care of unfinished business. "Preserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action," he said.
Enthusiastic crowds still turned out on the National Mall but the euphoria of 2009 was gone."Four years ago it was the first black president," said local resident Greg Pearson, 42. "It doesn't have the same energy. It's more subdued. It's not quite the party it was four years ago. Our expectations are pretty low (this time): let's not default on the national debt, keep the government running.
"Touching on volatile issues, Obama ticked off a series of liberal policies he plans to push in this second term. Most surprising was a relatively long reference to the need to address climate change, which he mostly failed to do in his first four years.
"We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations," the president said.
The swearing-in ceremony was televised, in part to avoid the confusion of 2009 that started a number of conspiracy theories about whether Obama was in fact the president. After Roberts mangled the oath, there was a quick, private ceremony at the White House with no television footage. This time round, the ceremony was broadcast nationally.
I saw this on the television and now im reading about it on the enternet. It reminds me of another text.

Fiscal Cliff Deal Will Raise Taxes On 77 Percent Of Americans: Tax Policy Center Analysis
The Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan Washington research group, estimates that 77 percent of American households will face higher federal taxes in 2013 under the agreement negotiated between President Barack Obama and Senate Republicans. High-income families will feel the biggest tax increases, but many middle- and low-income families will pay higher taxes too.
Households making between $40,000 and $50,000 will face an average tax increase of $579 in 2013, according to the Tax Policy Center's analysis. Households making between $50,000 and $75,000 will face an average tax increase of $822.
"For most people, it's just the payroll tax," said Roberton Williams, a senior fellow at the Tax Policy Center. The tax increases could be a lot higher. A huge package of tax cuts first enacted under President George W. Bush was scheduled to expire Tuesday as part of the "fiscal cliff." The Bush-era tax cuts lowered taxes for families at every income level, reduced investment taxes and the estate tax, and enhanced a number of tax credits, including a $1,000-per-child credit.
The package passed Tuesday by the Senate and House extends most the Bush-era tax cuts for individuals making less than $400,000 and married couples making less than $450,000.
Obama said the deal "protects 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small business owners from a middle-class tax hike. While neither Democrats nor Republicans got everything they wanted, this agreement is the right thing to do for our country."The income threshold covers more than 99 percent of all households, exceeding Obama's claim, according to the Tax Policy Center. However, the increase in payroll taxes will hit nearly every wage earner.
Social Security is financed by a 12.4 percent tax on wages up to $113,700, with employers paying half and workers paying the other half. Obama and Congress reduced the share paid by workers from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent for 2011 and 2012, saving a typical family about $1,000 a year.Obama pushed hard to enact the payroll tax cut for 2011 and to extend it through 2012. But it was never fully embraced by either party, and this time around, there was general agreement to let it expire.

Fiscal Cliff Deal Will Raise Taxes On 77 Percent Of Americans: Tax Policy Center Analysis
By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER 01/02/13 02:30 PM
In Washington while trying to raise taxes for the rich, people will end up still haveing to pay more taxes, no matter if there rich or poor. Because the legislation didn't do anything to prevent a temporary reduction in the Social Security payroll tax from expiring. In 2012, that 2-percentage-point cut in the payroll tax was worth about $1,000 to a worker making $50,000 a year. The Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan Washington research group, estimates that 77 percent of American households will face higher federal taxes in 2013 under the agreement negotiated between President Barack Obama and Senate Republicans.
