"People smiled because they had to, or else" It's Clair's birthday. She is going through a lot right know. Her boyfriend is locked up in a cage with his crazy dad who wants to kill all the vampires in Morganville. Her best friend Eve, is made at her because of her working for Bishop. Bishop is an evil vampire that is trying to take over morganville. Her other friend Michelle is cast under Bishops spell and has to do everything Bishop says, even if it hurts the ones he loves. Rachel Caine's Carpe Corpus mesteriouslly catching me from the very begining. It had me were i wanted to read more and more. I never really got bored of this book.
Claira's boyfriend is locked up in a cage by bishop. Claira is doing everything she can to get him out, but she is alone. Everyone is scared to even talk to Bishop about anything or to go against him. Claira is forced to do everything Bishop ask's her to do, no matter if it hurts the people she cares about or not. Claira is stuck and she has to figure out a way to save everyone. Well her crazy, insane boss, Myrnin is being very mysterious, first he is turning Claira and her friends and boyfriend in to the enemy, then he is in front of Amelie explaining to Claira that he is on her side. Amelie is the daughter of Bishop and the only reason Bishop is trying to take over Morganville is because Amelie is hiding away from her father, and no one knows were she is intill she shows up infront of Claira and Myrnin. Claira is now confused about everything. All she know is that her boyfriend is locked up with his crazy father, her bestfriend is mad at her, her other bestfriend is trapped by Bishops spell and she has to figure out a way to free everyone.
In conclusion, Morganville is in trouble and it is down to Claira to figure out a way to get through all this without anyone else getting hurt or worse killed.
